GIHM is affiliated to NCVT Govt of India and NIOS and situated at Behind Bus Stand, Hamirpur (H.P.). The quality of education and practical training including industrial exposure provided by the College helps students to emerge as professionally qualified personnel for hospitality and other allied service sectors.

The prime objective of the college is to provide gainful opportunities of employment to the students and also to ensure Food and Accomodation Industry which includes Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, Tourist Resorts, Industrial Consultancy Firms, Design and marketing of the Institutional Equipment, lectures in Hospitality Management Institutes, Managers in Airlines Catering Service and Indian Railway Catering Service and also overseas employment.

The existing accommodation of the college has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities like Modern Training Kitchen, Bakery, Training Restaurant, Bar, Computer Lab, Library, Class Rooms with modern teaching audio/ visual aids and well experienced/ qualified staff. The institute's major concern is students' welfare and is perceived as students centered institute. Right from the time a student gets admission in the college, he becomes a member of group of committed professionals in the hospitality industry.
